Re: Anna Nicole\'s court case on TV now - a joke or what?
Still doesn't make it news. Although the voodoo face paint was funny.
*sigh* I miss the idea that news is really news, and not three hours in a row of boob shots and celebrity hi-jinks. When even CNN runs this crap constantly, you know TV news has gone as low as it can go, and our tolerance for bullsh*t is pretty much bulletproof. |

Re: Anna Nicole\'s court case on TV now - a joke or what?
No one cares about real news in this country. People really couldn't care less about international news for sure, except that annoying war thing- anyone watch MacNeil-Lehrer news hour? Guarantee you they won't be showing this stuff.. Anna Nicole Smith is a classic American story

Re: Anna Nicole\'s court case on TV now - a joke or what?
I love MacNeil-Lehrer news hour. I even know it hasn't been called that for years, and I miss Robin too. He was a great guy.
We really are extra-terrible about international news, too. It makes it hard for Americans to put themselves in the context of a wider world, and can make us effectively very provincial. |

[ QUOTE ]
No one cares about the troops in Iraq- They chose to go. Now, if there was still a draft, the country would have been burning 2 years ago. But Anna Nicole is a classic American story of coming from nothing to make something of yourself... [/ QUOTE ] I care because those are my troops over there. |
