I would have bet then put him all in on turn so that he doesnt check behind on river with a ten or some kind of busted draw. A player this short is often trying to get rid of all his chips so he can go to bed. I think his range is huge here and includes many hands that you have beat including busted draws, smaller pocket pairs, a paired ten and even Ahigh. The tone of your writeup suggests you were beat but I think often this is not the case.
