Really, the producers and lost fans are going to blame ABC for everybody's disappointment? If the show didn't blow balls, ABC wouldn't need to do everything it could to try to get people to watch.

Good point about the kids presence. Not sure why that didn't occur to me. I guess the timing of their arrival just seems a bit off if they were there for some general observation, given my assumption that the Others intended on vacating Hydra almost immediately afterwards. Though I suppose the events that transpired after their arrival could have shifted the timeline.

VN post, I agree with everything.

This was the first episode EVER where I would miss a snippet of dialogue and just not care.

The tattoo story was completely meh as others have noted, but I do see some potential as part of a larger plot.

Have to disagree with the hotness of the thai tattoo artist. Tight body, but her face (and haircut WTF) was kinda busted.

I want them to get back to the weird Ukranian monitoring station and explore that plot a little. Also want to see some stuff involving the eyepatch dude. More global conspiracy stuff, plz.

I took Cindy's statement as more of a general statement of "Jack, we're here to bear witness to what these people are doing" rather than just the very specific "for Juliette's verdict" although that is part of the whole thing. I don't think it's a stretch that there's a whole lot more going on than just the verdict on the island. Would the children also be brought along for a death-sentence verdict?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking more along the same lines. But the appearance of Cindy's group also led me to believe that they might not always be on the Island or they have very good living conditions on the main Island and were only brought over for specific occassions to watch (in this case the trial, but I guess it could be any expirement really). That entire group looked very clean and neat.

But it really makes very little sense for kids that young to witness the trial. Although, maybe they just had to bring them with since I'm sure there is a lack of baby-sitters for hire.

Did anyone else notice that her teeth looked terrible too?

Ha, I was thinking the exact same thing. One of them ran away with Sawyer and Kate.

"There will be consequences" On the old lost that meant something crazy would happen. In the new LOST it mean he gets roughed up.

[/ QUOTE ]
I had similar thoughts as I was watching, but perhaps the consequences were much less immediate than the flashback would lead one to believe.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe being 'marked' means that Jack is doomed (i.e. crashing and spending the rest of his days on some freaky island).

This website says thats not what his tattoos mean.

[/ QUOTE ]

Those are his real-life tatoos. I'm sure the writers would have had a difficult time incorporating their true meaning into the show.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've always had this theory that the 5 was his tribute to Party of 5. Therefore when that chick said "the 5 is cute" or whatever, it was sort of an inside joke.

I thought this episode was okay. The best part is it appears we are getting away from that boring island finally.
