Throw a rock in any direction while listening to Licensed to Ill and it's a ripoff of a Led Zeppelin riff

[/ QUOTE ]
Those are all direct samples...

Chuck Berry could be the most ripped-off artist ever - a lot done under the guise of 'tribute'

[/ QUOTE ]

CCR's "Travelin' Band" sounds a lot like Chuck Berry's "Too Much Monkey Business".

I like Angus Young's view of "sampling" when requested by the Beastie Boys to allow inclusion of a bit of Back In Black -

"We don't respect anyone who doesn't write their own stuff"

The beginnings of Prince's "1999" and Phil Collins' "Susudio" are so similar, that when one of them comes on the radio, it's really tough to tell which song it's going to be.

These songs were both hits at the same time, so it was always fun to try to guess which song it was.

[/ QUOTE ]
1999 came out in 1982, Sussudio in 1985.

Swamp Thing by the Grid, while not ripped off wholesale, had it's techno-banjo theme stolen by Rednex on Cotton-Eyed Joe

( No link available for Swamp Thing, bah. WAY better song though. Maybe I could get up the video up me moshing to it at my wedding....)

Beginning of Twisted Sisters We're Not Gonna Take It sounds exactly like Quiet Riot's Come on Feel the Noise.

Cum on Feel the Noise...

Both start out with a kid in his room on his bed, too.

First: Panty Raid - Murphy's Law

Rip-off: Come Out and Play - Offspring

This still pisses me off because Panty Raid is a great song and the Offsrping one is horrible.

Papa Roach - Last Resort
The riff is a complete rip-off of the Iron Maiden song "Transylvania"
