I thought his book "Bringing down the house" was much better, although Ugly did have some fun parts

Ugly was a fun quick read, but he glossed over a lot of the details and over glamorized everything too much for my taste. I would be interested in a slightly more indepth analysis of what that lifestyle/job was really like.
That being said he accomplished his goal with the book, cause it is a pretty good read for pure entertainment value if nothing else. |

while being a great read for entertainment, a lot of ben mezrich's books have exagerations and hard to believe facts. He does a great job in creating entertainment value but his stories can't be taken very seriously.

[/ QUOTE ] I know guys that were written about in Busting Vegas and BDtH, as well as others who've made millions from card-counting, including a former client of mine. Nothing about how they win at blackjack, the amounts, or how the casinos counteract such players is exaggerated. Violence towards, theft from, and illegal imprisonment of blackjack counters has been par for the course for years. http://www.hobotrashcan.com/interviews/andybloch.php |
