Hey bruiser,

(Btw I'm interested in a S.A. trip report as well.)

I can recommend these for casual wear in colder weather. Comfy as hell and super durable.

I don't like ordering shoes online but I've gone through Zappos and I highly recommend them.

El Diablo,

FYI zappos.com does advanced exchanges. If buy shoes and need to change sizes they'll ship the new pair out to you immediately and you can return the old pair at your convenience.

Bruiser,

About a month ago your PM box was full and i tried it a couple of times, maybe that was it? You can ask me any question in the universe right now and I will answer them all, then you make LA trip report. OK?

How to you protect shoes when there's unexpected rain or in the winter? Do people still wear rubbers?

i don't want to start a new thread, but i'm looking for some new shoes too. specifically, i want machine washable leather shoes. sneakers would be ideal (in fairly subtle tones) but anything with laces is fine. i can't wear standard loafers or boat shoes, so those are out, but if you find a machine washable leather loafer that doesn't look like a loafer, i'd wear it. i know rockport has a line (my girlfriend has a couple pairs of their girls shoes she wears for school, she's a med student, and they get washed twice a week and still look great, which is why i want a pair or two) but they're too old manish for me.

for op and anyone else: i still like onitsuka. i have about six pairs and i love them all. if you like spending money, oki ni has repro rod lavers and stan smiths. those will always look awesome.

i love sandals:

the only bad thing about winter is not being able to wear them outside when there's snow.
