Default buying a mac

Is there any benefit to going to an Apple store to buy a Mac versus buying it online?

I'm just looking for a plug and play iMac. Is eBay worth scouting out? I know Apple.com has refurbs but I haven't seen anything there yet.

Thanks!

You get it now at the apple store but there is no price advantage. You can look on ebay for last gen apples but won't find much of a price advantage for current level and there is always the risk of getting crap. Discount Macs is a bit of an oxymoron.

Go for a refurb if you can wait. Full warranty, and sometimes you get free goodies! My iBook came with double the ram and a bigger hard drive.

You still get charged tax if you buy it online?

If there is a physical store in the state, then online retailers are supposed to charge sales tax.
