Hi guys. Wondered if i could get some advice on playing KK in 5 card draw. It seems to be a hand that makes me money but also loses me a fair bit. I hope this isn't too long, but if you could let me know what you think about each of these: (fixed limit).
PREDRAW: - open-raise with KK from any position. - if limpers will raise from most positions with KK - if playing to a raise and reraise, would normally dump - if one raiser and still early position, might re-raise to isolate - if i'm re-raised, most likely would dump the hand. On occassion would call hoping to make trips if I felt the re-raiser was loose - call-raise from SB, BB to a raise (i'm probably not going to get rid of the raiser anyway am I?) cheers |

If anyone raises you fold...
If you are going to be raising the limpers then watch out for those sneaky players who limp hoping for raises. In fact, forget that, just call unless you are a predraw expert. |

At a full table I fold KK UTG, limp in UTG+1 and raise in later position if the game wasn't opened by anyone else. If I am get reraised I fold, except if I have notes on the reraiser and potential callers to play very loose.

Thanks Andy, I think my main problems with KK have come opening from UTG. I should consider if I want to play them from this position. What do others think? My bankroll has improved dramatically since I've ditched playing QQ UTG, maybe the same would be true for KK.
How about to raises? Always fold KK? |

I never play anything less than AA UTG unless there are fewer than six players dealt in.
I'll fold KK to a raise in most positions, though I'll call from the blinds if the raise came from the button and I know him to not be a particularly tight player. Or I will call from the BB if the SB is the raiser. Also, I will call with KK from the BB if two people are in ahead of me for two bets. |
