Re: Proposed rule changes to NCAAF (Thank God)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If they want to speed up the games without screwing over the teams at the end of halves, why not run the clock, even on incomplete passes or out of bounds plays, until there are 5 minutes left in each half? I have not thought this through and just throw it out there. [/ QUOTE ] I dislike changing the rules in the middle of the game. I would suggest that if they want to speed up the games, they should shorten the lenght of the quarters. [/ QUOTE ] You must be kidding; that [censored] up every statistic. I was mad enough when they decided to start keeping bowl and conference championship statistics with regular season stats. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think it would mess us statistics any more than the other "time saving" rules that have been proposed. And I think it would hurt the game less. (For the record, I don't think that they need to speed up the games, so I don't think that any rule change is needed.) |

How about in the first and third quarters the clock keeps running on a 1st down like the NFL?

Re: Proposed rule changes to NCAAF (Thank God)
all of these things to shorten games eliminate plays, which I'm against
The less plays there are, the better chance for the worse team to win the game The idea to cut back on the length of timeouts and length of reviews is excellent. Let's face it, if it cannot be overturned in 2 minutes, the play should be too close for it to be a huge error either way. |
