I didn't give him any money back because the thought honestly didn't cross my mind. About 20 minutes later other guy mentions I should (he wouldn't shut up and was very annoying) and I blew off the suggestion because I was so fed up with this guy complaining about something that didn't involve him. But the more I think about it the more I think kirkrr's thoughts are probably right on and that if I could go back I'd give him half the pot.

you did the right thing at the time. 100%. i'm sure that the floor people at bellagio would view giving the guy half the pot as the absolute worse thing you could do. you just have to go by the rules in this case.

in this situation I would bet 1200 vs 900 on the river about half the time. Not only would I give the guy the full $ he should have won, I would also ask him if he would theoretically call a 1200 bet on the river as well. If he says yes, I'd throw in an extra $150 (do the math) and say "you earned it bud".

The asian guy is probably not as baller as ff, but if you somehow did what asian guy did, would you want to know what you did and would you want half the pot?
