Default Vegas NBA All-Star Weekend... Official Fish Finder Thread

OK. So this weekend should be sick. I can't wait to check-raise Lamar Odom all-in on the turn for 6k. Problem is that we have to find him. I've heard rumors of big games popping up in weird places, so if you see one, let us know!

Also, all good stories are welcome here.

The problem is, a lot of us out-of-towners will soon be incommunicado, vis-a-vis da web.

There is a weird vibe tonight. HUGE throngs of people clustering around the Bally's craps tables from 3pm to 7pm, all of them going and all full with people waiting to play. Lots of people all seemingly more than normal looking for fun. Walking around on the strip at 7pm it felt more like 11pm. Many of the clubs are closed for private parties; those that are left surely have lines running out into the street, and lots of folks are going to be left with nothing else to do but gamble.

After waiting 30 minutes to get into a 2/5 game at Bellagio and noticing the games seemed to be about 80% old, sour-looking guys, I punted and walked over to Bally's and settled for a 1/2 game that was almost as good as I had hoped it would be (only problem was most of the fish were buying and rebuying for $100). Literally saw 3 pots in an hour for >$100 with $40 river bets where the winner turns over king high and the other guy snaps his fingers and turns over queen high. A pocket pair of 3's wins a $150 3-way pot. A guy calls a $100 all-in into an $80 pot on the turn and says "I know you got a ace, but I gots one too" and shows A3 vs the other guy's AQ and then explains "I thunk he maybe had a bad kicker too and we'd split". $20 raise pre-flop, call, call, $100 reraise, and A7, the original raiser, goes all-in for $150 (and takes out KK when an ace flops..."I thought you was just tryin' to push me around").

Alas, I woke up at 5am this morning, so I'm done for the day.

Las Vegas is PACKED this weekend. I have never seen it busier with the exception of New Year's Eve.

Everywhere I walked today (from MGM Grand to the Venetian), the sidewalks were crammed with people. Strangely, there was almost always a noticable scent of marijuana in the air as well. This was true in the early afternoon as well as just before midnight.

I didn't notice anything special about the poker at the MGM Grand. It was typically good.

Lamar doesn't like to gamble.. I was sitting at the blackjack tables at the Palms and Deaven George, Luke Walton, and Brian Cook sat next to me. Lamar walked by and they told him to join but he declined and gave them 5 bills each.

Wynn was good tonight. Two 5/10NL's, a 30/60, and a 10/20NL that looked pretty deep when I glanced at it.

Hopefully some of these NBA all-stars find there way to the 10/20 NL tables at the Bellagio like poor Paris Hilton once did..

Paris Hilton played 10-20 NL? Did she even know what texas hold-em was? Or did she just hope to eventually run into Matusow and score some blow?

At the risk of sounding racist, I've never seen so many black people in Las Vegas at one time...
