blind defense J3s
sb is very aggro (seen him bet 3bet less than top pair on the turn after he cr'd the flop vs UTG raiser) and has probably even too wide of an opening range here.
sb raises, hero calls with Js3s (worth defending here right?) flop As Tc 4s sb bets, hero calls (should i raise here?) turn 8c sb bets, hero..... make a play at the pot at some point vs this guy or just call down and fold UI? |

Re: blind defense J3s
I would just call the turn. Given your read, this guy doesn't seem like the type to fold anything, and he seems like enough of a spaz to make raising the turn dangerous for you. I also like the flop call vs. this opponent. You won't get a free card, you probably won't make him fold, and you don't have any showdown value to try and get there on the cheap. Plus, when you do hit, this guy is paying you off 2 BB so just calling down seems like the money making play.

Re: blind defense J3s
Blind battles against aggros are a bitch. You definitely can't be afraid to make a move on him, but I don't think this is the right time. If you do make a move and he calls down with 98 to embarass your Jhigh, he's gonna go crazy-aggro against you in future blind battles.
Unless you've made a move against him before and showndown a good hand, I don't think now is the right time to go for the pot. |

Re: blind defense J3s
I defend preflop and I would raise the flop.
Your flop call signals some kind of hand on this flop. If he is good he has to recognize this. So his turn bet indicates a made hand making a semibluff raise less profitable. In short I just call the turn. |

Re: blind defense J3s
Oink - why do you raise the flop? I think a flop raise has a lot of merit vs. some opponents, but I'm not sure about this guy.

If he has some junk that didnt connect with the board I like raising the flop and taking the pot right there. If I just call he is likely to just c/f the turn UI or bet/call (maybe check/call) if he improves. In addition you have a good chance of folding Kx, Qx and lower PP's. If on the other hand he has a hand, I have decent equity and position, so its not a big disaster if he 3-bets. If he just calls I can take the free card. |

I also like a flop raise.

Re: blind defense J3s
Preflop call is standard. With this particular board, if youre gonna make a play for the pot it should be on the flop IMO.

Re: blind defense J3s
I bet any money that SB will 3 bet this A-hi flop if you c/r. Is that what u want? I just call down and try to hit a pair or flush by the river before I fold.
