Default Surely this is illegal?

I was recently shocked to be told by another player on Pokerstars exactly how many games I had played on the the site and how much i had won/lost (ahem...lost). He told me he got the info from a well known players database web-site.

Does anyone know if that info is given out by the on-line poker rooms, or is it taken by 'hackers'?

Surely it must be illegal for an on-line poker room to give out confidential information about a client's account? Isnt it?

I'm amazed that this happens, surely other people must be too!!

your thoughts please

This is similar to when people act shocked that someone else got a hold of sensitive bank info like their full account number. Well, have you ever written them a pre-printed check? Basically, these sites are using information available to the public in ze lobby.
