Default A question about checks from poker sites.

I recently tried to cash out by check from Prima and the transaction got denied. When I asked support what was wrong they sent me this message:

Thank you for contacting Poker Advice.

Due to the online gambling laws in the US. Our checks can no longer be cashed
within the US. At the moment the only withdrawal option for US players is ACH.
To do an ACH withdrawal you need to request a withdrawal through the bank
section of the
software. Set the withdrawal method as check and then contact us with all of
the information below.
First Name
Surname
Account Number
ABA (routing) number
Account Holder
Account type
Bank name
Branch name
Bank Address (incl country)

All of your outstanding withdrawals will be returned to your account within 24
hours.

This seemed strange to me because I thought I had read in some thread on here that checks weren't a problem. Since I really needed them money I went ahead and sent them all the relevant information they asked for, tried to cash out and today I logged on and no dice, the money was refunded. I just emailed them again and havn't heard back from them yet. I know people have had problems cashing out from Prima, but I have never encountered any and I've been with them for a while.

Are they giving me the runaround?

Thanks,

Chris

They cant send checks right now for whatever reason. I told them to call PokerStars and ask how they are doing it, but they didnt like that idea.

They asked for that bank info because they were temporarily doing withdrawals via ACH which is like a wire transfer. This option has now also been disallowed which is why your money was refunded.

Right now you might have one option. YOu can try EcoCard. Some skins are claiming that unless you opened your EcoCrad account prior to 2/6, you cant use that either, but I know a guy who opened his on 2/8 and it works.

Other than that there is NO way to get your money from Prima right now.

I got a check last week. This week they say the most they can put in a check is 5k. I got email today, but they are allowing bank wire which is better for me anyway

That's strange, last week was when my checks were supposed to come in. It was a series of 2K checks, but still no dice. Perhaps it's because you are such a big player?

I put in a request 3 weeks ago under 5k and was told it would take up to 10 buisness days. On the 10th day it was returned to my poker account and more or less I was told to F off. I believe they are about to pull a party poker and freeze US accounts and are delaying all US cashouts until then.

Why dont you transfer your funds to a player who doesnt live in the lovely US of A, and have him cash out and send you the money. Of course you have to be able to trust this person enough to have him do that.
