2/4 stud 8 marginal BI hand

Sort of a marginal hand that I was trying to figure out. The fourth street bet was mainly the part that I was curious about; I was trying to make the villain pay with a busted 3 flush, and if I got raised I could assume they had a strong hand. Generally it is a dumb idea to bet into A-baby with a pair of kings though.
There's a fair amount of both raising and flat calling from late position. Players vary from good to bad, but I had no reads on this particular player.

4th street check by villain is inexplicable, he should bet anything there.

I would bet if I were you too.

Calling down is 50/50, he's got low locked and pot is very small but you're very rarely beat for high. I think marginal positive equity there. I might lean towards folding because this guy is playing so strangely I wouldn't be able to place him on a hand. Then again, i might call for the same reason =p.

If "high-low normal" means that there's no qualifier, then there is no point at which you should voluntarily put money into this pot. If this is stud/8, I think you played it OK. The Ace checking into you on fourth is pretty suspicious, though. He should be betting absolutely anything. Either he has a monster and is trying to suck you in, or he is clueless. Maybe both.

Thanks for the replies. My opponent had rolled up aces, which completely surprised me at the time, though it seems like a reasonable possibility now.
By the way, how was his play limping on 3rd and checking on 5th? I'm a little curious because I have actually lost with rolled up aces more than I have won.
