Re: Can You Fold Quads Here?- RESULTS
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] The number of posts one has directly correlates to skill level? thats weird... [/ QUOTE ] of course not, it's just generally the rule not the exception. it's also odd that people with no posts seem to permeate the HSNL forum and give advice even though it's evident that none of those actual people play HSNL (as the player pool is so small and most of us know each other). and their advice is often so far from being good it's scary. [/ QUOTE ] but a lot of the strategy posts do make me smile, and remind me that the games haven't dried up that much. |

LOL at flop/turn play.
Also you probably can fold but you'd need a sick live read. |

Re: Can You Fold Quads Here?- RESULTS
Your SICK lay down comes by: flat calling the river bet.
Once the kid reraises 5K he's gotta call IMO. NASTY read required. |

Re: Can You Fold Quads Here?- RESULTS
[ QUOTE ]
Think about it. Once the Swedish kid checkraises to $5000, he has to have quads or an ace. If you are the button, reraising with only one ace is retarded beacuse you will never get value from a worse hand and may lose to the quad 7s, which is what the Swedish kid is reprsenting by checkraising the river. Really, the only hand that the button can logically have is quad aces. If you really think the hand through, the button can't put in that final bet without quads, and since the Swedisk kid has quad 7s, the button must have quad aces. It is a fold, although I probably pay him off anywaay [/ QUOTE ] LOL wtf. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my life. You must be sleeping with a nightlight on if you consider making this fold. The way the action went down it's quite possible villain has only an ace (and definitely at least 25% of the time). What makes you put him on precisely AA? His re-raise? his flop check? his turn call? Couldnt a bare ace take that exact same line? Folding here is beyond laughable. I'm pretty certain that everyone on this board can count on one hand the number of times they lost to quads over quads. |

Re: Can You Fold Quads Here?- RESULTS
Maybe villain thought he spotted a 7 dealt to someone else. Maybe villain is an idiot and reraising allin with just the boat. Maybe he thinks he has some sick read that you are bluffing and he is rebluffing. This is clearly a call getting 3-1.
If hero had minraised and then villain had made an oversized push, maybe this thread would be worth discussing. As it stands this is a trivial call. |

Re: Can You Fold Quads Here?
Answer: no. By the time you realize you might be beat, your too committed to the pot and you have to call because theres still a 50% chance your ahead. In this case, it doesnt matter because the other guy could just have a lone ace and be treating it like the nuts. There is no way on Earth you fold here, I would be getting it all-in with 3000 bb, much less 600 bb.
