I like this one a lot Nate. Here is one I heard recently on Amores Perros, "To make god laugh, tell him your plans."

I like that one too; first heard it from Billy Collins.

This may sound really lame, but I thought it up myself (not that it is a novel concept, just novel phrasing):

"If you're not failing, then you're not trying."

Whenever I am trying something new but get afraid of failing at it, I think of this.

I say beware of all enterprises that require new clothes.--Thoreau

Odd how useful it is.

"Me? Lie? Never! The truth is far too much fun!" - Captain Hook

[Talking about poker]"If you've done all of your analysis, considered all the information you have, and you still can't decide whether to call or to fold, go ahead and call, because it's more fun that way." -Unknown, but frankly, not a bad strategy for life

Good ones, Nate.

"Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or [censored] beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man, and give some back." - Al Swearengen, Deadwood

"Play Great Poker." -- Supposedly Phil Hellmuth chants this mantra to himself while playing. I (sadly) printed this out in large font that I made myself using a poker chip image and wallpapered the edge of my monitor with it. I have since removed it
