theoretical question regarding suited aces deepstacked
The recent thread on suited aces here got me thinking.
I played a simple, uneventful hand today:I raised UTG to 4xBB with A5s with a 202BB stack. The button, a good TAG who ran 22/17ish, had me covered, and re-popped me to 16XBB (12BB more to me), and I folded. Obviously, his 3bet size was larger than usual in order to cut down on my impled odds. Heres my question: with a high implied odd hands like a suited ace, should I have called his large 3bet? IF not, how much deeper do we have to be for me to justify a call? What if I had position? what if it was a suited connector (less nut flushes, more straight possibilities) like, 9c8c? Also, what if I had a negative implied odd hand like AKo? instafold? |

Re: theoretical question regarding suited aces deepstacked
most important factors here are gonna be his reranging frequency and postflop ability. without knowing that i'm gonna be mucking pretty much everything to him at first. once i know these things, i'm gonna be more inclined to play semibluffing hands like 89s and AXs rather than medium pairs and whatnot.

Re: theoretical question regarding suited aces deepstacked
when you get deep enough u go in terms of % of stacks instead of in terms of Bb, it is the easiest way to adjust your bet sizes. i like to get 10-15% of whatever if i can with AA pf..
