Start Company with Poker Money = Money Laundering?

I have received a brief comment from a lawyer (very reputable in regards to online gambling law) in regards to the money laundering issue I brought up. I am having him continue to look into the matter. The lawyer mentioned that, in order to violate the federal money laundering law, I needed to violate a state felony anti-gambling law. In the state I live in, online poker is not a felony and therefore the statute does not apply.
