Default U.S. Player cashing out on stars

I tried the search, but I have some questions that I couldn't find an answer to. A couple of weeks ago, stars announced that a U.S. player could recieve a check for any money they wish to withdrawl. I was wondering about the legality of this matter, particularly, when I actually decide to cash out the check at the bank.

Will there be anyway that they know it is a check for an online gambling website?

Also, what is the safest and most reliable way to withdraw money from stars?

I feel it is safe, but as always do not keep more money in any place (other than insured funds) than you can afford to lose.

No man, don't worry about it. Your money is probably safer there than any other online institution, or possibly even bank for that matter.

Don't worry about it? Are you kidding?

No, I'm not kidding in the slightest. Tell me how your money is in jeopardy by leaving it on Stars for example? Do you think the site is going to pull out of the U.S. and just disappear with your $$ ? You can cash out by check at any time, and this check in no way indicates that it's from a poker site.

Also these huge poker sites, even if they do pull out of the U.S., have FAR more to lose by being corrupt and not honoring their customers claims than they do sending a few thousand here and there, even a few million. They are a multi-billion dollar company, and to keep their reputation in tact and remain legitimate to the rest of the world, they wouldn't mind sending Americans what they owe them, just like Party.

Also on a side note, with everything that the U.S. is doing now (and not just on this issue but the state of the entire global community and our gradual loss of freedoms and security), sometimes I wish I could just get out of here and move somewhere in Europe. And trust me I don't just speak for myself when I say that. Sadly for Americans, not even that is really possible anymore. Presidential elections can't come soon enough...

I thought my money was safe at Neteller, until it wasn't.
