Neither are the best songs by the bands, but they both blew up huge in the mid80s, made hiphop mainstream in a lot of ways and hooked nearly anyone who liked music.

I am somewhat surprised to not see Magic Carpet Ride- Steppenwolf not listed yet.

I think Pianoman- Billy Joel is an honorable mention as well.
