I'll probably get bashed, but
Nelly - Country Grammar The first time I heard this on the radio I knew it was going to be huge. I still think it is one of the best rapish songs of all-time.

Big Star - "Thirteen" and "September Gurls". I don't even think most of you know who they are. But I think these songs are both beautiful and transcendent and two of my alltime favorites.
Other than those two... The Beta Band - "Dry the Rain" Guns N' Roses - "Welcome to the Jungle" Exploding Hearts - "I'm a Pretender". Another song not too many people may know, but I sincerely believe this would have been a hit in any era. Its sound is timeless. I'll think of more.
