Re: who has the advantage in this weird poker game??
noone is mentioning the fact that the omaha player gets position every time? I think this may sway things in his favor, especially if he knows what he's doing...

Re: who has the advantage in this weird poker game??
I think it depend on the betting structure and stack sizes since the omaha player should have a nice advantage on the flop (because he can hit it with more cards). but on later streets the played with 3 cards can make more concealed hands, so he should be able to extract value here.
So if the omaha player can gt the money in on the flop without giving too much action then he should have an edge. If the stacks are deep then i would guess that the player with the 3 cards could get an edge. |

Re: who has the advantage in this weird poker game??
[ QUOTE ]
this is a game i invented, and want to challange some people to a heads up match (it can only be heads up), but i would like to know who has the advantage. dealer = small blind, and the other is a big blind the board is set up like hold em and delt the same player A: gets four cards like omaha, and must use EXACTLY two cards player B: gets three cards, but can use either ALL THREE, only two, or even only one, to make his best 5 card poker hand. who has the advantage? [/ QUOTE ] This sounds like a pretty good hustle. The trick is figuring out how to play the 3-card hand. |

Re: who has the advantage in this weird poker game??
Is it no limit, pot limit, or limit? I could see situations where the 3 card holder would be at more of an advantage in no limit, and less of an advantage in limit.
