There is a restaurant in Studio City that is famous for the "The Salad" which is rumored to send women near their due date into labor. I hear pregnant women from all over flock there. It's called Caioti Pizza Cafe. It's just a romaine salad with gorgozola and a balsamic dressing. I don't know what is so miraculous about it, but it is famous and women in Los Angeles swear by it.

Dominic,

the duck club sandwich at Marie Laveau's here in Charleston, SC is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The restaurant is quite unique and I think it would make a good shoot for you.

Here's a review from the Charleston City Paper,

hopefully this helps. also, I think I remember you saying a while back that Charleston was one of your fav cities, so this would be a good excuse for you come to back!

The Angus Barn, Raleigh, North Carolina. The dish is steak; they're world famous for it. Also, the head chef was recently on Iron Chef and won; I don't know whether that's good or bad for your purposes. Their wine cellar is also world famous.

This is their 82 page wine list:

I bet you Bern's Steakhouse annihilates this in both steaks and wine.

Quite possibly the perfect meal.

Looks like Bern's made a couple of Top Ten lists, so I'm sure it's a nice place.

I'll still take the Barn. Top 15 + ten minutes away >> Top Ten + A Different State.

Only skimmed the thread, but:

Horseshoes, Springfield, IL.

Couple of different restaurants to choose from. I personally like D'arcy's Pint, some other choices are Topcats or the Dublin Pub.

Horseshoe = 2 slices of bread, meat on top of the bread (I like buffalo chicken, you can do just about anything), fries on top of the meat, and cheese sauce (pref white cheese)on top of everything. I'm suddenly feeling pretty hungry....

If you do NYC pizza, it's got to be Totonno's in Coney Island.
