Random hand all in - gets called - odds of winning?
I'm trying to come up with the odds of making money using a new odd strategy. I haven't tried this strategy yet so don't know how well it works. My question is, if I simply go all in with any hand, does not matter to me what hand it is, preflop, what are my odds of winning if I get a caller or 2? I'm assuming any kind of table, both loose and tight.
I know you don't really have enough information to make an accurate prediction... but just any random table and any random hand and someone calls what would you guess my odds would be? My brother thought it would be around 70them/30me. Would it be way under that, or possibly higher? Edit, this is in texas holdem just so you know |

Re: Random hand all in - gets called - odds of winning?
1) Come up with a list of hands that an opponent will call with.
2) Use pokerstove to see how a random hand fares against that range. Ta da. |

Re: Random hand all in - gets called - odds of winning?
I am not planning on knowing the particular opponent. I plan on using this on just some random table against random opponents at the 50cent/$1 level. Just considering the skill level of people at that buy in stage what do you think my % may be? I know it's way lower than 50%, just not sure how low.

Try to figure out why EK's answer is correct before attempting to create a new poker system.
