Default Having trouble getting away from big pairs. Please help

Just as the subject says, I am overplaying big pairs a lot of the time and am having difficulty laying them down. Particularly perplexing is on a rag flop when I lead out and get minraised it is very often a set. What is the best way to minimize exposure without getting run over? Here is an example. If I was pushed back out do I simply lay it down?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($103.70)
UTG+1 ($120.50)
Hero ($203.60)
MP2 ($230.10)
MP3 ($306.05)
CO ($74.20)
Button ($18.25)
SB ($65.20)
BB ($105.40)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K, K.
[color=#666666]2 folds</font>, [color=#CC3333]Hero raises to $4</font>, [color=#666666]1 fold</font>, MP3 calls $4, [color=#666666]4 folds</font>.

Flop: ($9.50) 5, 2, 4 [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font>
[color=#CC3333]Hero bets $8</font>, [color=#CC3333]MP3 raises to $18</font>, [color=#CC3333]Hero raises to $40</font>, MP3 folds.

Final Pot: $67.50

Results in white below: [color=#FFFFFF]
No showdown. Hero wins $67.50. </font>

Make it $60, and yes.

and if he calls the $60, then what do I do on the turn. My default is generally to just shove it in on the turn barring a scare card

Sorry, I thought we were in position here. Also, this is in the wrong forum.

I just call the flop raise and re-eval from there, possibly c/r turn.
