Re: Where does Steve Nash Rank all time?
You're right Jup. Besides, if he had to play in the WC there's no way he could keep it up. You can see this because his yearlong P/R/A averages of 25.4/4.2/4.3 plummet to 26.3/4.5/4.2 when he plays teams in the Western Conference.

[/ QUOTE ] sir, i wasnt comparing him against the conferences, he's the #1 option in atlanta where as he was the #3 or #4 option in phoenix, that was my only point....i'm a huge joe johnson fan, think he should be in the all-star game and am boycotting the broadcast b/c of it |

Assani,
Nash doesn't even have the best field goal % on his own team, how can be MVP? |

Re: Where does Steve Nash Rank all time?
[ QUOTE ]
Nash will be remembered as the player who led the revival of high-scoring fast-paced fun-to-watch era. In that sense he is the MVP 3 years running (oooh, nice pun), as far as fans should be concerned. Is he the bestest player in the league? No, but MVP award isn't defined that way anyway. [/ QUOTE ] You sure he isn't the bestest player in the league? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I think most people who are against Nash like him as a player and think he is very good. Probably one of the best 10 players in the league and he is very fun to watch but he get's really overrated. [/ QUOTE ] Very well said. I am a Nash hater and I agree with this. However I might be more inclined to say top 15 or so. [/ QUOTE ]You really hate him? [/ QUOTE ] i dont hate him, i respect his ability a great deal, but I have trouble putting him in the same class as top 5 players in the league like people seem to be doing these days simply b/c of him being a defensive liability I do, however, use this same argument with dirk and even lebron to a point, so its not just nash [/ QUOTE ]Magic Johnson was also a horrible defender. Sometimes when you're so good at offense it just doesn't matter. [/ QUOTE ] Let's not get crazy here. Did Magic have alot of trouble defending most pgs? Absolutely, because he was 6'9" and all the pg's he faced were smaller and quicker. People are also quick to forget that Jordan had trouble defending smaller quicker pg's too. Magic was pretty unique, however, as he is probably the most versatile defender who ever played guard in the game. He could defend against any position on the floor, including the other team's center in the post. As a defensive player, Magic >>>> Nash. |

Re: Where does Steve Nash Rank all time?
Putting Nash ahead of Isiah/Stockton/Magic/Robertson is just ridiculous. Payton and Kidd are also ahead of him if his career was to end today imo. Give him 3 more great years and he can be considered top 5, maybe top 3 (I think he will be thought of as better than Stockton and Robertson). But comparing him to Jordan lmao.
