Default Mixing it up with KK turned deadly?

3/6 nl 6 max on full tilt. Effective stacks are 100BB My second hand at the table im dealt K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button. I decide to mix it up and only call the UTG raise to 18.
Flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villian bets pot, I call.
I only call at this point because I think he has a made hand and If a blank hits the turn and I reraise his bet I feel like It will appear that Im semi bluffing a heart draw and he will pay me off.
Turn 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villian bets 90 into 110 doller pot. I raise to 225. Villian quickly calls.
river 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villian think and fires 256, about 40% of the pot. Hero?
I understand I played it unconventionally preflop, but thoughts on all other streets would be appreciated

if one were to semibluff that board one would do it on the flop and not the turn.

act accordingly and raise the flop and stack his made hand which is < KK

i feel like you'd do a better job of repping a flush draw if you raise the flop. as played, your line looks really strong IMO.

of course call the river.

Villain has the nuts here a lot imo but you have to call. What range are you putting him on at this point btw? I'd much rather raise the flop than the turn, I really don't like raising the turn.

I would have played it faster on the flop. Given your play I'd probably call the river, but I wouldn't feel great about it.

calling pf here is bad.

Note to everybody

Please stop saying I made a play to mix it up, if you have a real reason for it then fine tell us the reason but justifying suboptimal lines by saying I wanted to "mix it up" is really bad.

edit: Also the river is a really easy call

Eagles i "mixed it up" preflop because his preflop raise was weak and I figured id rather try to win more chips if he spiked some sort of top pair on the flop, then re popping it and taking home 20 bucks. Also with only 18 dollers investedits a quick fold if an Ace pops up on the flop

Don't think this is an easy call at all. I'd expect him to have it virtually every time here.

So it was your second hand and you already had a read that the standard 3*BB from UTG was weak, man that's impressive

Raise the flop and get it in.

You think he has a made hand, get some monies before scare cards hit.

Waiting for the turn to represent a semi-bluff makes no sense at all.
