I'm still learning PLO, and a few people sat out leaving me HU with a fairly unknown, but very aggressive, opponent. I raise on the button with something like AQT6, he calls.
Flop: A 6 3, 2 hearts He checks, I bet pot Turn: 9, not a heart He pots, I call River: J, not a heart, still no flush He pots, I ??? What's standard play here? I can't put him on any hand that makes sense, other than A99x, or maybe a missed draw. |

There is no standard play.
Go with your gut. To me my best calls with non-nut hands are when the betting just doesn't make any sense for the hand that your opponent is representing. And then of course mix up your own play. Vs an aggressive opponent try to get them to bluff more and then just call them down. Save your own bluffs for when you have nothing at all. Most of all be prepared for huge swings in heads up play. |
