Is 6 months really enough. In the book "Professional Poker" by Mark Blade he says it can take up to 2 years to average 1bb/h but that is for limit hold'em. Is 6 months enough for you? and do you just take 6 months living expenses out of your bank roll at the end of the previous 6 month period.

Couple things here. You get in way more hands playing online than you do in a casino. Also, typically your edge is larger due to the game structure and your opponents.

I have a continuous daily goal of $200 a day and before neteller went down, would cashout daily down to $6000. I have about $30,000 saved clear as well as $24,000 saved for taxes (30% of what I cashed out this passed year). Essentially everytime I earn $1430 over $6000 I cashout that amount ($1000 for me, $430 for taxes). I think it's important to have a solid structure, almost as important as game selection and of course...skill. So whether or not you agree with my system, it's better then having no system at all.

If it's your profession, you want to be constantly putting money away. Instead of only focusing on building a bigger and bigger bankroll, focus on cashing out X amount of dollars each week/month that is not poker money once it is taken out. Try to keep about 40-50 buy-ins available online and if you are beating your current stake to the point where you are cashing out your X amount and able to move up to a higher stake then great. Otherwise, just continue grinding your limit that you are beating and keep adding money to your name. I don't know how many times I've heard of players winning for months and months and then move up to a stake they can't beat and lose most if not all of it and suddenly have no money to their name.
