You can generally play 74s like AA preflop. It is a great hand, because it makes you play much more unreadable. People can't assume your raises and reraises are big cards. It you make something, you are unlikely to be dominated. Plus if you miss you have absolutely nothing, so it is easy to either throw it away or pure bluff with it, playing exactly the same way you would play an overpair.
