Party Poker
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 10 players Converter Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB checks. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($3.5, 7 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $3.35, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, CO calls, SB folds, BB raises to $23.45, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls all-in $15.45, Hero raises all-in $67.3, CO calls all-in $21.15, BB calls all-in $29.95. Uncalled bets: $17.25 returned to Hero. So I limped those Aces in MP3 just to mix things up a little bit and not give away my hand. Flop is pretty safe for me and I only call the first time that comes around as I want to build the pot big. I figure only cards that screw me on the turn are a 3 or a 5 and I got two of them. My intention of course is putting everybody in on the turn. Then everybody goes bananas (I suppose Middle sets, straight draws, two pairs) and hand plays itself. Comments? |

nothing particularly wrong with it. I like to save these limps for worse aces, but whatever.

With your hand, I'll limp/call in any spot. I don't get to dicey with AAxx hands unless I'm in late position and we've got a bunch of limpers or some small bet. Even then I'm usually looking for some sort of AAxx Dbl Suited. In those cases I'll often POT (especially if the inital raiser has shown to be weak, so I can get him heads up in a big pot).
As I've said, I'll often limp/call however, if I'm first in I'll usually raise 2-3x the BB and guage any continuation bet on the flop texture VS the # of callers |

Limping Aces is good in lower stakes games (200 PL and lower genearlly) where morons still minraise on the blinds or just make some general donkey raise in late position after you limped. If the table is playing loose (which it should) they should pick up a ton of callers allowing you to reraise to ginormous amount with your AAxy hand. However, if the other players on the table are smart and tighter, I think a standard pot-sized raise pre-flop is appropriate for an AAxy hand.
