Default Adios Paradise!

From EGR Magazine:

Sportingbet has announced it will effectively be closing its Paradisepoker platform, incurring a write-off cost of £55m (US$107m). It will migrate players to its existent Sportingbet poker platform, run by Boss Media software.

Paradise isn't going away, but it will be just a Boss skin.

"Sportingbet will retain the Paradise poker brand and migrate all Paradise players to Boss in due course."

The small stakes games on Boss are going to be very nice.

Thanks for the more complete info...but to me it means that paradise has gone because the existing software (love it or hate it) is gone.

Anyone know what the current Boss/Sportingbet room is called, and on what domain?

And what name the new room will be under? Paradise, Sportingbet, or what?

This part of the press release doesn't sound good:

----------
Daily active real money players on both systems amount to approximately 6,500 each, however the greater liquidity on th Boss system, as it is a shared network with other Boss licencees, means yield per active player are approx. 60% higher from the Boss players as compared to Paradise Poker players. By combining all poker players in one network we aim to maximise yields from all players.
----------

In other words, they'll be moving to Boss's crappy bonus structure, I would think.

Anyone have any info as to a date on this? Need to clear up some bonus...

that is weird because I asked SB about a bonus I had pending on Paradise and they told me to contact Paradise about it.

Just got this email from Paradise in response to my question in regards to timeline for the switch:

----------
Dear Whats-his-name,

Thank you for your email. As you may have heard in the press we're upgrading the Paradise Poker software to a new, improved standard over the next few months. You can expect even more great promotions and poker action with added features to improve your playing experience. You won't need to do anything to receive these changes other than upgrading your Paradise Poker software and you'll receive on-screen prompts for this when you open Paradise from time to time over the coming weeks. We'll send you more details on the changes before they happen, but we're excited to be making them and hope you'll enjoy an even better poker experience with us this year.

Regards,

Mathias
Paradise Poker Support
----------

Didn't tell me a whole lot, but I'm hopeful this means it will be at least a little while until the switch is made.
