Big Slick versus Re-Raised Turn
I am SB in loose 4/8 live game. Holding A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
MP limps, I call, BB calls I have a agressive image of someone who will always fire at a pot I am in. I play tight pre- flop. BB is tight/passive. MP- I have owned for 2 years. He plays solid, but can never put me on a hand. Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, BB check. MP bets. I raise, BB folds, MP calls 9 of spades falls on turn I bet, MP raises,do I re-raise or just call? |

Re: Big Slick versus Re-Raised Turn
Easiest raise preflop ever.
I would need a better read to reraise the turn. |

Re: Big Slick versus Re-Raised Turn
i'm not surprised he can't put you on a hand if you play all your hands like you played this one.
Raise preflop everytime here, you have a big hand and you want that BB out of the way. Raise for value. Bet the flop , do you want a flush and straight draw to hit their draw for free? From playing badly on the first 2 rounds you now have no idea how strong you are in this hand. Deception should be used sparingly, at the right times, this isn't the right time. |

Re: Big Slick versus Re-Raised Turn
I just call the turn unless the guy is nuts.
Why didn't you raise PF? Easy, easy value raise. |

Re: Big Slick versus Re-Raised Turn
Limp:
BB equity pf: 23.778% Hero equity pf: 46.242% MP equity: 29.980 {77+, A7s+, K9s+, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KTo+, QJo} EV = 3SB * .46242 = 1.38726 SB Profit = EV - 1 SB = 0.38726 SB with preflop raise: Hero equity: 63.199% MP equity: 36.881% {77+, A7s+, K9s+, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KTo+, QJo} EV = 5SB * 0.63199 = 3.15995 SB Profit = EV - 2SB = 1.15995 SB Since Profit with pfr > Profit w/o pfr. Correct action is to raise preflop. Just wanted to say this incase OP still needed proof (I suspect OP is afraid of not flopping a pair). You gotta know what level your opponent is thinking on, and I would open bet flop. Assuming MP flat calls, flop and then raises turn, I still call and c/c river UI. |
