Re: Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal

[ QUOTE ] Deleted [/ QUOTE ] in before post is deleted and you get banned for being retarded. [/ QUOTE ] If I were to give him the benefit of the doubt I'd say he was trying to make a point about people being motivated by their being uncomfortable with homosexuality. I don't know anything about CaptainFreedom and he didn't provide any context, so it's hard to say. |

Re: Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Why is gay marriage even an issue? Does anyone really give a crap? [/ QUOTE ] Haven't you heard? It devalues the institution of marriage and will lead to the eventual downfall of civilization. [/ QUOTE ] That's what Newt "I served my first wife with divorce papers while she was in the hospital being treated for cancer" Gingrich and Rudy "I had a very public affair while mayor and lived with a gay couple when my wife kicked me out" Giuliani told me and I believe them. After all, they have first-hand experience devaluing marriage. |

Re: Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal
The gay marriage issue is no longer an issue. In fact, any debate about homosexuality is null and void now that there's a cure. All it takes is a few weeks of intensive counseling and boom!....you're cured of the gay.

Re: Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Why is gay marriage even an issue? Does anyone really give a crap? [/ QUOTE ] I would guess around half the country is bothered by the concept. [/ QUOTE ] Democracy FTW! Yes, lots of people are bothered by the concept. The question is: how much are they bothered by it? It costs them basically nothing to check a box saying "prevent these people from doing something they want to do", but if they had to fund that oppression themselves, directly, without spreading the cost over everyone else, the shallowness for this anti-preference would quickly become apparent. It's the anti-free-rider problem. [/ QUOTE ] Lots of people spend lots of money fighting gay marriage. You think Falwell spends his own money pretecting this country's morals? You think GWB cares? Some one paid him a lot of money to act like he does. If you watch "Friends of God" you will see a bunch of anti-gay marriage billboards. Bill boards are not cheap, and Viacom doesn't give christians a discount. |

Re: Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal
There is only 1 reason gay marriage should be illegal, because the public wants it illegal.
Anti-Gay Marriage Votes in 2004 election Arkansas 75% for 25% against Georgia 75% for 25% against Kentucky 75% for 25% against Michigan (blue state) 59% for 40% against Montana 67% for 33% against Mississippi 86% for 14% against North Dakota 73% for 27% against Ohio 62% for 38% against Oklahoma 76% for 24% against Oregon (blue state) 57% for 43% against Utah 66% for 34% against 11-0 for anti gay marriage ballot measures in 2004 (several other measures also passed pre-2004) Clearly alot of people do care about this issue. You can view each and every one of those people who casts their vote as a backwards hick if you so choose. And while laws can be unconstitutional, there is also alot of support for constitutional amendment banning it as well. |

Or tragic, if you view homosexual love as legitimate and coequal to heterosexual love. |
