Re: a crazy fold?

[ QUOTE ] Dude, this is a really easy call. If your read was that SB was a very tight aggressive, then I can start to see your reasoning. Otherwise, this could easily be SB with a weaker FD and the other two betting good made hands. [/ QUOTE ] if SB was very tight aggressive i would put him on anything but a flush draw. why would he bet out on the flop? also, UTG+1 capped the flop then checked the turn, he didn't cap and lead. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that was another terrible post. Sorry. Listen to the other guys' arguments for calling. |

Re: a crazy fold?
[ QUOTE ]
Capping the flop and then checking does look suspicious but he could be trying to c/r the field with a big hand, or scared of a bigger hand and wanted to get the money in on a cheap street. If anything, I would say the flop is a closer fold than the turn and I probably wouldn't fold even then. [/ QUOTE ] very good point, but i didn't think UTG+1 would risk the turn getting checked through on such a draw heavy board with a hand like AA/JJ/AJ. as for UTG+1 being scared of a bigger hand, that doesn't make any sense. why would he cap the flop with AK then decide the 3 was a scary card and check? |

You need to be 75% sure he has a better draw to make this fold. [/ QUOTE ] i think UTG+1 has AA/JJ/AJ maybe 5% of the time when he checks the turn. the other 95% i'm drawing dead. |

[/ QUOTE ] The only drawing hand a solid player UTG+1 is gonna raise with it KQ suited. If you can be 95% sure that is the hand he was playing, good laydown. If not, bad fold. |

Re: a crazy fold?
If you really feel that you are drawing dead 95% of the time then it is an obvious fold. It's easy to see how unpleasant a spot you're in, but I know that I, for one, am not good enough to make this fold. I'm starting to believe that it was a very good fold though. Any combination of Ks, Qs, Js are plausible, doesn't really have to be KQ. Depending on the number of players at the table, many solid players will open QJs UTG+1. I'd say you prolly can be >75% sure you are drawing dead and thus it was a very good fold.

Re: a crazy fold?
I misread the hand. I thought the Jack was a spade.

results
river was an offsuit Q and it was checked around.
UTG+1 had K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], UTG+2 had A5 |
