I'd just call here. You've only got one pair so don't try to build a big pot on a 3-flush, paired board. I've seen many donks play a flush like this at these stakes. It's very possible that you're ahead but you won't be often enough to warrant a raise on the river.

call the river because there are a lot of hands that have you beat, flush, trips, full house... and you only have one pair so you only want to play a small pot

Yeah, all great advice, wish I had thought a little more before popping $5 in there and getting 3 bet by villain. Funny thing is he 3 bet me with a J high flush on a paired board with higher flushes possible. All round donkage. One of those nights where i'm doing a bunch of counterproductive moves/calls/bets. Frustrating, going through your hand history and seeing so many mistakes you don't normally make, and you know are blatant donkings. Oh and Berge, no hurry with the HH review, whenever you get time is cool.

Pls raise the river, but not to big. This is a blocking bet from a weaker ace or T so often.
I agree that donks play a flush/set the same way some times.
But same Villains also make crying calls with 2nd pair or TPNK.
I would raise to 6 and fold to ANY reraise, because Villains are like never bluff reraising this river.
You`re missing way to much value by only calling here.

I would say a raise of around 4 would be enough. If he re-pops easy fold

i hardly think he was out of line for reraising with his J high flush. he has a pretty good hand, and it's safe to say he's probably ahead of you when he's making his river 3bet, given the action so far. of course, he played his hand poorly on the turn and river, playing way way way too passively, but that's another matter.

i would've flat called the river bet, although a smallish raise isn't terrible. when he reraised you, though, you HAVE to fold. i'm guessing you called, considering you know what he had, and that's awful. you can't call that. in the event that you did actually fold and he told you what he had, nevermind this.
