To me, it's standard delusion. He inflates himself to be a good player internally, but knows it's taboo to be cocky so he covers up his huge ego with self defeating comments he doesn't really believe are true. . . to which the outcome is a muddled and confused demeanor in the presence of people who see through his bull

[/ QUOTE ]

Nailed it.

I agree.

IT IS INCREDIBLY STANDARD FOR SOMEONE CAUGHT BLUFFING TO GO AHEAD AND INDICATE HE WAS BLUFFING AND THE OTHER PLAYER TO SHOW HIS HAND TO TAKE THE POT. ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS BEING RIDICULOUS.

[/ QUOTE ]

It really can't be said any more clear than this. I can't even believe some people on here still think that Gold is out of line by admitting he was bluffing and wanting to muck his hand. I think some of you guys need to get out of your mom's basement and go to a live casino every once in a while before you try to comment on proper etiquette and behavior.

[/ QUOTE ]

who called who? If I call your bet on the end, show me your hand or throw it in the muck, don't tell me that you think I've got you and then stare at me with the deer-in-headlights look.

The only thing worse than playing with people who refuse to turn table or muck their hand immediately after being called is playing with people who turn their cards over one at a time.

"I've got the Ace" *flips it over"
"Oh yeah? Me too" *flips it over* "What's your kicker?"
"What's yours?"
"Mine's higher than a nine."
"Oh yeah? How much higher?"
"It's a face card"
"Oh yeah? Mine is too. Is yours male or female"
"Female"
"Oh, you got it."

Gold = the ULTRA Hellmuth

heh

Helmush = limp limp limp fold fold fold... limp with queens, get outdrawn, and act like an ass.

Gold = limp limp with KJo, flop J high, raise call, and say, "duh, I need to get better at poker"

P.S. the rules?

They state that the bettor shows first.

End of discussion.

Hi, all. I live in England and was following HSP on youtube, unfortunately the guy who uploads the episodes has been banned. I was wondering if anyone could PM as to where i can acquire them elsewhere online?

Thanks in advance.

Ya I hate to see this still sidetracking the thread, this discussion really belongs in the B&M forum.

The people who play live a ton (I've played live a small to medium amount, so I'm no authority) basically are saying "This behavior is very common" and they are 100% correct. In my maybe 30-50 live sessions I have seen this sort of thing in probably every one.

It's also common to see alot of other showdown B.S. (people flipping over 1 card only, etc.)

But it being common doesn't make it not against the rules. Alot of live players are very bad and eitehr don't know the proper rules or they don't care.

As also noted by others, it's often the really bad players pulling this sort of thing so the good players are probably correct in keeping them "happy" at the table. Making a big stink about a single hand might make them upset or embarassed and they may leave.

BTW, this is not an abuse of the "I want to see that hand" rule. You are entitled by the rules to see the bettor's hand first when you call his bet IF YOU SO DESIRE (as mentioned above, for diplomatic reasons it may be better to let it slide).

But that is not what Gold did. Gold whould hold his hand until the player that called would show his hand. As I stated, I would have no problem if Gold had in fact mucked his hand and player B (the Caller) then showed his hand to take down the pot.

Dude, none of the good players wanted to embarass Gold by making him show his hand. They don't want to embarass him into playing better.
