Default beat: i feel like [censored]

so everyone always brags about how much money they've won from poker but I have a question, before you started making dough, how much did u initially lose? And how long till you started winning?

i struggled with really bad bankroll management in sports betting and basically lost a lot of it on that. i'm currently a couple grand in the red and need a sense of direction. maybe i should just quit?

meh, i ran really hot when i started, and was possibly already a winning player (i was initially taught freshman year by a kid who could beat 25nl).

take out your sportsbetting losses (you probably ran bad, its super high variance - not to say you were a winner, but in the long run you will come close to break even, kind of like blackjack). how much have you lost from poker alone?

ok well that didn't work out too well at all. played blackjack and now have 17 dollars left in my account. umm.. i haven't had pokertracker (still don't, using trial version) so its hard to say how much i've lost but i've probably lost around a grand. sports betting is another couple grand.

i know theres currently a thread "your biggest rush starting w/ not a lot of $$" where people talk about bringing 70 cents into hundreds and hundreds into thousands but how the f do people do that. with the way cards seem to be falling for me, i'd probably be sucked out faster than you finish reading this.

2 hrs ago i sit at 100nl with 20 bucks and dealt AA. go allin preflop with a caller who has KQ and flop comes KKQ. i move down to 25 max and with button have 33 and hit trips on flop. too bad theres 2 diamonds also on the board and with on caller who holds a 4 of diamonds, the turn and river are also diamonds.

i know i'm no way in hell rolled but after reading people's posts from turning dollars in thousands i was inspired.

Typically when you hold an unpaired hand (ex 89) and you flop three of a kind with a pair on the board (ex 882), that's called trips. When you start with a pp and flop three of a kind (ex holding 33 on a 38K flop), that's called a set.
