Obviously NOT a Dale Carnegie student.

[/ QUOTE ]oh I see? When I ask a perfectly simple question, although apparently not simple enough for the first respondent, and he replies, "neither, you're a retard", I should politely thank him for his time and help in the matter?

You learn something new every day, which is of course why I never post on 2+2

Just say tapis .

[/ QUOTE ]you could of course, although that is even more pretentious than saying tap, unless you are actually French.

The question was I thought straightforward, maybe I haven't phrased it very well, but i take it from the lack of serious responses, one or two posters accepted, that there is no definitive answer.

Well despite my miserly post count, I appear to have stumped the might of 2+2

this would be interpreted as 'all-in' in any game i play in.

but i play on bilingual tables (english/french) and i'm sure you'll get mixed reaction from other areas.

I have heard tap used as a transitive verb. Like, "I tap you" means I put you all-in. So I suppose my answer is that if I say "tap," it means all-in, but only if I have you covered.

If I don't have you covered, I guess it means all-in anyway.

But I agree that it shouldn't be used at all.
