The recent announcment of the cancellation of a poker tournament in Monte Carlo has nothing to do with the European Poker Tour event being held there March 28th - April 1st, 2007.

This much smaller tournament was cancelled by the Monte Carlo government for the simple reason that they were advertising and intending to hold cash games, which are currently strictly forbidden under local gaming regulations.

THE EPT GRAND FINAL EVENT IS TOTALLY UNAFFECTED AND WILL CONTINUE AS SCHEDULED.

son of a bitch, can anyone confirm this? As stated earlier, I'm going along with my friend who won a Stars package, and I want to be able to gamble while I'm there.

I'm sure that in none of the Montecarlo casinos they play texasholdem . And i' m pretty sure that they will note play cash games beside of EPT event .

Last year, at least, there was no cash game but s&gs from 100$ to 20.000$.

Yeah lot's of SNG's and 500/1000 euro torunaments at the Bay Resort. Raymer, Hatchem and others were playing in some big SNG's with 30K being the biggest. The big guns were gambling it up with a bit of chineese poker at 1K a point.
