Default NL25 6max: AK oop multi-PFRs

MP is 21/5/1.8

I figure I can narrow the MP to a big pocket pair. AA (3 ways), KK (1 way), QQ (6 ways), JJ (6 ways)...maybe JJ is less likely.

So do you like betting out on the Flop or check raising? ..or something else entirely.

I guess another thing to consider is the player in between. If I check-raise the Flop, and Mr. UTG's flopped a set, I'm in trouble. Also, it seems with a CR I potentially lose lots more when behind, but only win a little more when ahead.

...still liking my line, just looking for confirmation.

I'd raise more PF to about 2.50 but betting on the flop is good, though a check raise might let you know better where you stand because if someone goes AI then you know your beat and you don't have to lose anymore money with TPTK.

Why such a big raise pre?

And check-raising the flop just to "see where I stand" seems expensive.

Fold pre-flop unless you have a read.

a 21/5 is almost never 3-betting light, and you're looking at QQ+/AK most of the time.

Raising and then folding to what is essentially a min-reraise?

Why not add AK (6 ways)?

I would just make my standard cb with the intention of getting it all in at some point. I don't have a problem with the pot sized bet, except I think you lose the hands you are way ahead of.

Agreed, I would bet less on the flop. The PSB doesn't bring UTG along for the ride. Also at this level, Villian may just call the $8 bet with AA, putting you in the dark on the turn. I would be interested in seeing the rest of this hand though.

Villains stats are 21/5. What do you think he's 3-betting with ? It's almost only QQ+/AK

Now look at what happens post-flop with AK against this range :
- A high flop. AA stacks you, KK and QQ aren't putting much money in.
- K high flop. AA and KK stack you, QQ isn't putting much money in.
- Any other flop. You c/f.

I'm still curious what others think about this situation. Lordy, I hear you: it seems very likely that I will either lose a lot or win a little post-flop; but to fold pre-flop to a minraise seems ludicrous.

If I picked up on the fact that someone was doing that, it'd be very easy to start running them over pre-flop.
