Default (27) AA facing HUGE raise from UTG

reads: none, sharkscope shows this guy as a total fish (looked afterwards)

blinds: t15/t30

stacks: 9 players, all +/- t100 from t1500 (hero t1470, UTG t1520)

hero is UTG+2 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG raises to t300, 1 fold, hero reraises all in to t1470, 6 folds, UTG folds.

results: hero wins t345.

his overbet said he didn't Really want a call. Probably TT or JJ (though his fishiness makes reads harder). Smooth calling him wouldn't have been a bad play. You're not likely to get other callers as his bet was UTG and your calling it states quite clearly that you're ready to gamble.

He doesn't have the odds to chase a set as his initial bet was too big (stacks would have to be 2400 for him to be able to get set chasing odds and that's assuming you'd give up your stack if he hit it). Same with 2 pair. Therefore you're giving him a chance to be behind and throw the rest of his money in.

That said, There's Nothing Wrong With Your Shove. The question you need to evaluate is what percentage of the time will he call your raise vs what percentage of the time would he commit more chips on the flop (with some adjustment for him overtaking you on the flop). I think your shove is probably best but his overbet made it a closer call as it ruled out (to some degree) him having KK/AA.

I call hope there is a squeeze behind and wait for him to shove any flop.

who squeezes facing a 10x raise and a cold call with anything but KK+ (who is going to call my push anyway)?

i thought the guy had JJ, so i pushed, hoping that he'd call, thinking that he would check/fold if there were any overs on the board.

Who openraises 10 BB at 15/30? Villain really plays some strange poker. So we dont know if he just needs a rush of adrenalin with 72o or if he overplays a big hand. Make a note and flatcall him next time in this situation.

Open 10x raise at 15/30 is not a regular or average player . I think no one note can be written here . He could have anything . The only way to play against him is QQ+ AQ+ at this level and stay ready to gamble all our chips

I kinds like a smoothcall here, but I'm also somewhat surprised that a player bad enough to raise 10x didnt call your push.

I'd call here a lot, especially since he's bound to bet into you on any flop.

A push can't be too bad, if he really sucks he'll call that pretty wide.

I agree that it is surprising that he did not call. Usually when someone commits to this big of a raise they are willing to go all the way. Which is why I would shove here. I think you get called a very high percentage of the time and I don't want something to come that could scare him away postflop.
