Default 2-5nl Live

Hand happened while I was playing in Oklahoma in
December at WinStar.

Villain is pretty tight, hasnt opened raised yet in the two orbits ive played.

Max buy is $500, im up to about $650, villain covers.

Villain opens to $15 utg, 1 caller, I call with Q7d in sb.

Flop: KQ7r
I bet $40, villain calls, everyone else folds.

Turn: 7 completes rainbow
I check, villain bets $100, I call.

River: 3
I check dark, Villain bets $200, I?

I will post results later.

Checking dark is gross here. Too often live you miss a ton of value here. Live monkeys tend to not be able to pull a thinner then normal value bet on the river checking behind a ton of hands that would otherwise pay you off.

I probably call since your check dark shows weakness. Don't be suprised to see KK/QQ often but again your weakness might have induced a bluff (not likely though). Raising here seems awful.

Jim,

I agree 100% with this line. But since he didn't take this line I probably just call the river.

But not betting/raising the turn seems criminal.

I don't like the check dark either. As for the river play once he bets $200, I actually think just calling is fine. Against the player you described, you get cooled by KK or QQ reasonably frequently. I don't think he overplays AK this hard, which means the only worse hand he can have that is this confident on the river is AA. I wouldn't fault a shove, but calling is a reasonable route.

u under repped ur hand pretty bad by turn check and river dark check. not many really thinking players at 2/5 at winstar, so I prob push. chance that he has KK, but since u played weak, you might also get looked up by ak, aa also.

also, like everyone else said, don't dark check river too often, gonna miss value from scared live players afraid to value bet for you. I only dark check when i complete from the sb in a multiway pot, and then only a small % of the time. I don't see benefit from doing this on river HU.
