Re: WSEx: Official Monthly Thread: February. (#6 of 6.)
Welcome to February.
Today's line is: Indy -6.5 -110 Chi +6.5 -110 Over/Under 46.5 Money line Indy -220 Chi +180 Plus we have hundreds of prop bets. Last week was a logistical challenge but we got it all done. We will miss Neteller, but other methods already exist. New options are in the works and will be rolling out very soon. The fight goes on. Fred Balfour General Manager WSEX.com |

Suggestion:
Print up little flyers with a chart giving approximate RB per hour amounts and send them to your players to distribute. And thanks again for sticking with us. To show my support I'm gonna start betting on every UFC with you guys. Its the only sport I know about, unless you start doing chess too. |

Re: WSEx: Official Monthly Thread: February. (#6 of 6.)
I've never placed a sports bet (live or online) but today I put some money on the Colts. You can blame that pop-up window for that.
Something I wanted to mention is that I think more games would be active, but often many players are timid about being the first to sit at a table. (Many times the waiting lists are loaded, but no new games are being started) If anyone else is like me, playing HU scares the daylights out of them. (I normally play 2/4 and 3/6 SH, but drop down to .25/.50 to 'learn' HU). Normal sites hire props to start tables, or have a promotion like UB that awards more points to the player who sits down at a new table. You might want to think about adding some kind of incentive to the first 1-3 players to start up a table. (Maybe a small amount of sports book credit or something similar, just to toss one idea out there). After all, one of the major complaints I hear about the site, especially from the NL players, is there aren't enough games going. |

Re: WSEx: Official Monthly Thread: February. (#6 of 6.)
It is a nice suggestion, but how do you suppose WPEX pay for this? They already give back 100% rake. They don't make a profit from poker. I'm surprised the 'Aces Never Lose Promotion' continues.

[/ QUOTE ] If you see a long wait list you can always sit at a new table and sit out, so you don't have to play HU or out of your comfort zone. When others sit you can explain, if you're so inclined, why you're sitting out. You can even solicit for the new game through chat in an existing game. This method of starting new games has a reliable rate of success and it allows you to play a brief sample size of hands in games where you're slightly uncomfortable. You'll building a new skill while waiting for the game to fill to your liking. This is yet another way in which playing WPX forces players to learn poker rather than staying a specialist in a very narrow band of the poker spectrum. |

Re: WSEx: Official Monthly Thread: February. (#6 of 6.)
I'm starting to lose faith in WPX. The customer service is good, the software has improved so much, but the marketing is inexistant.
Fred, please do not take this harshly, but you suck at promoting your site. Please hire a competent marketing team - I will even volunteer to help. There is no reason a solid rake-free site like WPX should only have 1200 players during primetime. |
