Default Dealing with short stacks going all in pre flop

I had 99 with a full stack ($10). Short stack goes all in for $2. No real read on the player. Folded round to me. Do I call or fold?

I called thinking that an all in makes no sense and I'm at least 50/50 against anything other than higher pockets pairs.

He showed 54 suited and my 99s held up.

I suppose this is a general question about how to treat maniac short stacks pushing when you have premium connecters and decent pocket pairs.

If I have a PP 88 or above, I call. If I have AK or AQ, I call.

if he is only 2 dollars man you can call with almost any 2 if last to act, definitely with pocket pairs and any ace.

10nl with 20bb. I'd call a shove with 55+, A9+, KQ
