I haven't followed college basketball since Penn & Redd, and before that Jim Jackson...but for those that follow, is this team worth getting worked up over? They are 7-0, ranked #24 AP, #22 Coaches. Next year, we are supposed to be getting the next Bron-Bron, Greg Oden, and 2 other top recruits. WTF is going on?

I wouldn't exactly call Greg Oden the next Lebron.
Unless you call Shaq the next Jordan.... |

[/ QUOTE ] Its comparing players of different positions, but Oden looks like a beast against high schoolers. Thank David Stern for getting him, because there is no way he would have gone to college without the rule change. |

Oh. St. is looking good again, and they've got a blisteringly good recruiting class (#2 rated by rivals.com, better than everyone but North Carolina). However, Oden might opt out of his letter of intent, and in any case will go pro after 1 year anyway.

I've heard almost nothing but very good things but the Buckeyes coach Thad Motta, did good things at hist former schools and can obviously recruit.

After a kick ass week defeating Michigan on the road, and destroying the Illini, I think it's time to bump this thread all the way to the Final 4!

when does the NCAA put them on probation?
my guess is that since tOSU is a favorite, they won't lose any scholies or anything even though their AD is on tape saying there was a lack of institutional control. I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] double standards Onto the topic at hand, the Buckeyes squad is good and I'm not sure next year's team will be better no matter who the recruits are. The experience and savvy, with the excellent shooting of course, is tough for any team to line up against. I put money on the Buckeyes to win the Big10 regular season title before the season, so I feel pretty smart right now. The problem is can they win when if they don't shoot so well in a tourney game, which is notorious for using sites with poor shooting backgrounds. This year's team, in general, has been dissed an awful lot. Check out their computer rankings and compare them to the ap and coaches....disrespect. Next year's recruiting class is gold. Davis poor in-state recruiting at IU and Purdue's demise of a program has allowed tOSU to grab Oden and Conley out of Indy. Plus, Illinois is landing Eric Gordon of the following class. That's two guys #1 at their positions and another top10...Indiana has become a hotbed for other big10 teams. Also, the year after might be an even better recruiting class for the Buckeyes. OJ Mayo and Will Walker out of Cincy are the real deal and tOSU is a big contender for both. The question is where does Bob Huggins end up (rumors are that he has some influence on those fellows). I've always wondered when tOSU fans would embrace bball, where they have almost as much success as football. |

It's definitely not as big as football, but they tend to fill the biggest basketball stadium in the Big 10 pretty regularly (at least they did when I was there).
This year looks very promising, and next year, I'm already pumped up about it. |
