There's always going to be delays when the checks are drawn from foreign bank accounts or tied into them - it's pretty standard, unfortunately. A hold on the money until the check clears the US clearinghouses should take 3-5 business days and nothing more.

I have cashed 2 checks from Chexx (via PS) in the past 3 weeks, and both times the amount posted to my account the same day and was available the next day.

Good to hear. Sometimes the bank's policies suck and holds happen, though, so it's nothing out of the ordinary for most people.

I deposited my check at a Wells Fargo ATM. It cleared in a day.

Not saying that it won't, but checks don't clear in a day. The fact they released the funds to you doesn't mean it actually cleared.

I deposit my stars check today at commerce for almost 35k
The teller didnt even flinch, just processed the trasnaction and I was on my way.

ty douche. I know how to cash a check. My question was did anyone ever find out if Chexx, Inc. was indeed halting their business with internet gambling providers or was it just a vicous rumor.

Follow the advice given in my post and you will quickly find out. If you have a bank account, most banks have a web site that would tell you the nearest location that is currently open. Many banks are not open on Saturday, but some branches stay open until noon. Your best bet is too find a bank branch attached to a grocery store or inside a shopping mall, they tend to have longer hours. Good Luck.
