Default First Permanent NT account closure

Yay! proudly announcing the first permanent NT account closure.

Despite long and very detailed conversation with UK manager earlier today, wherein I explained EXACTLY what I was doing, and how, and why, and then got his assurance that they would not close my account, it's closed.

Could not get through to security to discuss, but NT live chat was hilarious:

David : Can you see the record of conversation earlier today with the UK Security Manager
Mike: Yes.
Mike: Unfortuantely we will no longer be providing you service.
David : where I asked if it were ok to deposit into Poker Stars to play funds on my account - his response was yes
Mike: Yes for you, not for others.
Mike: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
David : I am currently playing with those funds as we speak - what is the problem?
David : playing On PokerStars with that money transferred earlier
David : please explain
David : mike?
Mike: Yep so thats fine, enjoy.
Mike: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
David : mike, I have not been smart or sassy with you, please be courteous
David : yes, can you send message to UK security mnanager asking him to call pls
Mike: Unfortunately I cannot. You are able to call in if you like, yourself.
David : can you provide any further information as to why my account has been closed?
Mike: No unfortunately not. You are welcome to call in.

I had less than $4 remaining in my account so I can happily say 'screw them and the horse they rode into town on' unlike the unfortunate, many of whom have entire bankrolls tied up in NT

Yes, it was p2p related but....

This was after a VERY detailed conversation with UK Security Manager where I asked SPECIFICALLY about ONE deposit transaction and was UNEQUIVOCALLY given the OK, with the CLEAR assurance that doing so would not jeopardise my account in any way.

Without wanting to get into specifics, I feel that I can make a pretty close to the mark guesstimate at the mechanics of what is going on between NT and the gaming sites.

In a single sentence, this whole p2p -> transfer to site mess revolves around each site's 'credit-with-recourse agreement' with NT, thus, NT has not been reading this forum looking for accounts to shut down, the sites have been feeding info back to NT to cover their end. It's pretty obvious when you think about it.

edit for clarity: The 'credit-with-recourse' bit is the guesstimate part, the fact that the sites are feeding detailed info back to NT re these transactions is beyond dispute

Which unfortunately implies that cashout requests for those transferred funds will not be e ffected until NT is given the OK by the DoJ

Ditto re Neteller finding the means to return funds to US account holders.

Someone with more knowledge needs to chip in here
