I haven't decided yet. This should be a new thread, IMO. Go ahead and start it.

Paluka,

Isn't being friends w/ Finkel a greater Magic accomplishment than having your own card?

You clearly don't understand what Jon was like when I became friends with him.
Also, I defeated Jon in the finals to get the ol Meddling Mage.

Knew you were in the industry, but didn't realize you had your own agency. What's your specialty?

When we opened, on-camera commercials. We now also have youth, theatrical, and hosting/broadcasting divisions.

Lippy, I was going to PM you, but depending on what you want to do spending all that time in school to work in Hollywood might not be a good idea.

Other questions PM me, if there's enough interest I'll start another thread.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would definitely be interested in this...

LFS: FYI, if your wife asks, I think you might want to consider substituting "daughter" for "job" right now.

OP: Probably building a company to double-digit million revenues and almost 200 people. Next time I do this I'll try to skip the downsizing and firesale part.

[/ QUOTE ]

ANY idiot can make a kid. Not an accomplishment at all, IMO. Now, raising a daughter in Los Angeles successfully, I would call an accomplishment. But I can't take credit for that yet.

Downsize and firesale? Know anybody at Sherwood Partners?

I wish I had a firm, good answer to this, but it's probably something relating to grad school. At 21 I moved overseas to attend grad school in Poland, where I knew a total of 0 people and spoke about ten words of the language. I ended up writing a 100+ page thesis about NATO expansion and American security policy in eastern Europe, meeting a lot of people, learning enough Polish to have conversations in bars and conduct my daily business (including with my non-English speaking landlord), and still somehow not getting my MA out of the deal. (Oops, maybe not such a great accomplishment.)

In any event, it was very empowering to move somewhere that I didn't know anyone and didn't speak the language and still be able to be socially and intellectually successful (by some standard). Oh yeah, and I moved over there three days after September 11th.
